Wat Po, Klong Tour, Ananta Samakom Thronehall and Thai Aroma Massage
10:00 - 11:00
We depart the hotel on a minivan to Wat Po ( temple of the reclining Buddha).
11:00 - 11:45
We visit the functional section of Wat Po. This temple is famous as the place where the 3rd biggest reclining Buddha
in Thailand is kept. The measurement from head to feet of the Buddha is as long as 46 meters. Around the temple,
there are many engravements which show different subjects of the ancient wisdom. The most popular subjects are
about the Thai herbal medicines and also the Thai massage.Lessons are openly displayed in Thai letters and drawing
which can be seen easily along the panels of each pavilion.
11:45 - 13:00
From Wat Po, we walk to the Tha Tien pier on the side of the Chaophraya river. It is adjacent to Wat Arun, the
landmark of Bangkok by the water way. We get on the long-tail boat which will carry us from the Chaophraya river
onto the canal network. Mixture of the modern and traditional Thai houses, old temples as well as the lifestyles of the
Thais are lively displayed daily in the so-called “Bangkok, the eastern Venice”
13:00 - 14:00
We leave the boat and have a buffet lunch on the Chaophraya riverside.
We drive along the Phra Atit road passing the backpacker area of Bangkok. Its center lies on the world famous
'Kao Sarn road' which does not only provide the used-to-be cheap accommodation, but also is the center of their
night entertainment. On the leftside by the river, we see Phra Sumen fort, one of the two which has been maintained
as the memorial to the former fortification of the old Bangkok.
14:00 - 14:45
We visit the Ananta Samakom Thronehall in the old Suan Dusit palace complex. Its building was built from the
Italian marble in the Italian Renaissance design. Its interior, however, is more of the Thai influence. In 2006, royal
members from the 24 countries around the world came to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Thai king being on
throne. Their group photos were beautifully taken within this hall. Currently, the hall is used to exhibit the artful
works from the Queen Sirikit’s royal support foundation.
 14:45 - 15:30
We leave out to break our trip in a massage house.
15:30 - 16:30
We enjoy the more relaxed aroma massage. Four odours are available for our selection, from the Jasmine, the
Lavender, the Orchid to the Green tea. This one hour lasting massage will be a good introduction to the Thai
massage and spa, which is considered one of the top class of the world.
16:30 - 17:30
We happily leave the massage house and arrive back safely and pleasantly at the hotel
